Key Dates

Papers that were submitted for inclusion in the refereed publication are currently being reviewed. Successful authors will be advised when the review process is completed.
The accepted papers will be published in a special supplement to the Australian Journal of Indigenous Education in early 2007 and will be available to view and download from this website.
Non-refereed papers that were included in the Conference Program will also be made available on the website at that time.

Call for Abstracts

The Call for Abstracts for papers, workshops, performances and other negotiated modes of participation is now open. Notification of accepted abstracts will be completed by 28 April 2006.

Indigenous and Indigenist research privileges the knowledge systems, voices and standpoints of Indigenous researchers and communities. We respectfully ask that your presentation proposals to demonstrate this. For this reason, we ask you to submit a brief list of your sources and references with your abstract, as well as a testimonial from colleagues about your work/research.

Abstracts should clearly indicate which of the four major themes you would like your contribution to be considered within:

  1. engaging the cultural interfaces created by and between Indigenous educators and Indigenous communities
  2. engaging the cultural interfaces created by and between non-Indigenous educators and Indigenous communities
  3. engaging the cultural interfaces created by and between Indigenous educators and non-Indigenous educators
  4. Indigenous standpoint theory and/or pedagogy

Abstracts should be between 150 – 250 words long, submitted as word documents or rich text format files attached to email, or by using the online abstract template on this website. Images are also accepted, submitted separately as jpeg files. Performance submissions may require audio/visual files. All files should labelled using your first name and surname, and differentiated by a number if you send more than one file e.g. suebeetson1.doc

Abstracts will close 27 March 2006.

Notification of accepted abstracts will be completed by 8 April 2006.

Participants wishing to have non-refereed papers included in the conference program need to submit these by the 29 May 2006.

Participants wishing to have their papers considered for inclusion in the refereed publication need to submit these by the end of the conference (30 June, 2006).
